New Years 2000

My name is ~Lacey~  well.. in reality, it's Maureen.. but I've been called ~Lacey~ for so long now, I think that's what it is!  Talk about an identity crises :)

I live in Massachusetts, USA. It's beautiful here.. except when it snows.. then it's ugly!  REAL ugly.. unless you don't have to drive in it.. then it's beautiful. :)

We have all the different kinds of weather you can imagine here. The saying goes, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute."  Which means it can change in a drop of a hat. One day it rained in the morning, snowed at lunchtime, sun came out in the afternoon.. and we had a wind storm that night. And that was in the middle of the month of May too!

I am a single mom with a beautiful daughter, Tamara. Tamey is 21 now and engaged. She and her boyfriend bought a cute little house last year, so I'm an empty nester now. And more so since my mom moved into her own place as well. I've taken care of my mom and daughter by myself for the past 17 years, sometimes working two or three jobs just to keep food on the table for all of us.  But we survived and everyone is doing great!

I used to work for Digital Equipment until they made me a "slave" and my department was sold to another company, "Quantum" and then sold again.. until finally being laid off because that company moved quarters to Singapore! But that was OK with me since I was now able to do what *I* wanted because my daughter was finally out of school and able to take care of herself now.

I now work with a consulting firm doing NT upgrades, database reporting and web design. A little bit of everything.. and I LOVE it!

The year I was off work, I got to travel and meet some friends that I met from an online gaming community I was a staff member of. It was a lot of fun and we got to meet in Las Vegas of all spots! MAAAN do those guys know how to party!

I'm a sensitive person and don't like to hurt anyone's feelings and get very emotional when someone doesn't like me. I may be a little too outspoken for most men, but HEY.. this is ME! and "ya jes gotta love me"  hehe

Well, there are just so much more I could tell you abut me, but then, if I did that then there wouldn't be anything to add later now, would there? hehe

I do enjoy meeting and talking with new people so I do hope you'll send me mail and ask me questions.  I'll answer privately and put some of the interesting ones online here for all to share.
